The "Punkin' Patch" and other mysteries of life ....

Bob Erwin has been knocking himself out preparing for us to come have a great time on his property.

This wooded grove now sports all sorts of varmint critters just waiting for our pistols and Jan. 15,16.

These are all steel silhouettes cut out, painted, and hung for our use. There's 36 of them on this range alone!

Now that will "Ring" with a nice hit.

You see the format of our game here too. We aren't asking that you come shoot aspirins at 100 yards. We're making this a pistol wonderland. Consistency will be rewarded. Fun will be enjoyed by all.

Just a side note. This is the sort of thing the sport / hobby has NEEDED for a long time. Sure, it's nice when people purchase from a dealer and go back for a scope and for pellets - then accessories, then a target, etc. However; all of that happens in a vacuum. It's absorbed and doesn't float all of the boats in the harbor. We'd like to see new opportunities for you to USE what you purchase. Perhaps gather and have some good natured competition while doing so. When you do so ... others are introduced to the sport.

Where are the festivals? Where are the tournaments? Who's gonna step forward and organize and sponsor events? I've said, for many years, that this is the type of thing we've needed. More "activity" in the hobby. Can you imagine if most people just kept their golf clubs in the closet. Collected baseball bats, but never played. Who knows ... I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there's a baseball bat collector's club meeting somewhere. But ... I think a boat should be in the water. An airplane should fly. And, an air rifle should engage in the sport of "shooting". For that to happen, in our rapidly diminishing shooting culture ... we need "events".

You turn on the TV late at night and try to find something to watch. You flip across the "FOOD CHANNEL" and there's a "Chili Cookoff" ... held in some little town ... and they had 50,000 people during the weekend. Someone planned it - someone promoted it - many people advertised it - AND ... tens of thousands of people SUPPORTED it. That's the one ... yeah ... I know .... everybody's busy.

As you realize ... I'm SUPPOSED to be making airguns. But, along with that, I've tried to step up to the plate and entertain, sponsor, organize, etc. to get some activities off the ground. However; when we spend six months producing a Standing Stone festival, we get 200 people to show up in three days. We've been pushing the rendezvous for five years now. If we didn't have it anymore ... everybody would wonder why ... 'cause they were just getting ready to come THIS time.

Well, Bob's got my vote. He's stepped up here. Those targets are sawn out of plate steel. He doesn't have a machine shop. He wants to support the sport. What's in it for him? Sharing the enjoyment of something he likes. Seems he actually shoots his Chaparral 25 pistol. ;?) I've lost track - he's put somewhere well over 20,000 rounds thru it now.

There's still time for a few more of you to come enjoy a weekend of air pistol shooting Jan. 15, 16, '05 in Corbin, Kentucky. Sorry ... we're alittle behind in our "sensitivity training workbook". If you come, some will win - some will actually loose. We'll have therapy personnel on hand (to laugh at any poor sport ... ;?). Obviously, we'll be featuring Barnes air pistols. Hey! Can we DO that? .... (:?() ... You Bettcha.

Bob's set up four ranges. At the top of the page was the "hunting camp". Here's the "pumpkin patch". Another is a "fruit bowl" theme. The fourth is all manner of steel splash plates - geometric shapes. Heated shooting sheds provided. Tanks of high pressure nitrogen provided.

Don't wait to see the pics here of what you missed. ;?) Just going to remind you here too. Many of my Pistol actions will drop into a carbine stock as an alternative format. (Yes ... that's a blatant commercial comment) ;?)

Guaranteed to cure cabin fever and the post New Year blues!

If you don't come ... all the Whales will die.
